Inflation and high electricity prices: Everyday life is becoming more and more expensive. However, saving electricity is not only worthwhile financially, but also protects the environment. So you have more energy to focus on Cookie Casino.
Many people want to contribute to climate protection, others simply have to save electricity because they can otherwise no longer pay the high energy costs in times of inflation.
SAVING ELECTRICITY AT HOME
Whether you’re a power-saving pro or a beginner – with our five tips, you can save electricity right away just by taking a quick tour of your home. The effort is minimal, because saving energy in the home is easier than many think at first.
1. pull the plug
A simple but effective trick: unplug all appliances that you are not using at the moment. The standby mode is one of the most unnecessary and at the same time most expensive power guzzlers in the household. Therefore: Go through your apartment and check which devices are plugged into the socket. Kettle, TV, radio and electric toothbrush – you’re bound to find one or two devices that you can disconnect from the mains. To make the process more convenient for you in the long run, you can place a power plug with an on-off switch between the socket and the device.
2. filling the kettle correctly
Next stop, kitchen. You can save energy when cooking and check whether a more energy-efficient stove or refrigerator might be worthwhile. But with this simple trick, you’ll save electricity right away: Fill the kettle only with as much water as you need!
If you heat more water in the kettle than you need, this will increase energy consumption (and CO2 emissions). To put it in figures: One unused liter of water per day adds up to about ten euros per year. You can easily save that with the following trick. First fill the required water into the cup or pot and only then into the kettle. This way, you only boil the exact amount you need.
Don’t fill the kettle to the brim if you only need a cup of tea.
3. switch washing machine
Off to the bathroom: With your washing machine, there are several tips to save electricity right away:
Wash only when the machine is fully loaded (but not too full, that damages the washing machine).
Wash your clothes at 30 degrees Celsius, which is sufficient for light soiling and saves a lot of energy because the water does not have to be heated as much. In figures, washing at 30 °C instead of 60 °C uses only a third of the electricity and can save you around 40 euros a year.
Use the washing machine’s Eco program. This takes longer, but saves energy because it uses less water and a lower temperature.
The laundry goes outside to dry instead of in the dryer.
4. say good night to the WLAN
One last power-saving tip so you can go to bed with peace of mind. You can also give the WLAN router a good night’s rest; after all, you don’t need the Internet while you sleep. Either activate a time control or, even better, simply unplug the router before going to bed.
Important: You should keep in mind that without a router, the landline phone will no longer work. If you still have a landline phone and want to be able to reach it in case of an emergency at night, the router must remain in operation.
